Blowing up a planet to start you movie is great in my book, Star Trek VI is a classic example of this, Captain Hikaru Sulu was great by the way; "Fly her apart then!"
Another that comes to mind is Superman Returns, looked great in the theater, I just wish Mr. Brain Singer could have gotten his chance to go all Wrath of Khan with what would have been his sequel. Now it's all reboots of things already rebooted.

Yep, that's my current order of Trek, Haven't seen the director's cut of The Motion Picture yet, might rank a little higher if I do.
2 & 6 are almost a tie, 6 getting the higher spot being that it's the newer of the two.
