You know, this is one of my, "if you think about it" things that only I seem to care about...
This whole continent I am sitting on is America, North to be exact & we are the United States of America. Canada is in America, Mexico is in America, not to mention Central & South America.
Note, we are not the United States of North America. I'm just saying it's not really right to call ourselves Americans when it's the whole damned western hemisphere, but I guess United Stateizens it too weird. So we took the A of USA & called ourselves Americans, well now it's so imbedded so deeply with the entire world it can never be undone.
So all's we came up with was the United States of America? I mean it isn't bad, it does have a certain grandeur to it, but then there's that whole American thingy. I mean, I can't think of anything better that would be in alinement with those days of it's founding.
The United States of Not England, or Unengland... Newland... Scoochoverton... bah...
It's just one of those things I find very weird when you over think.
